The Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture (ESALQ-USP), in Piracicaba, is offering a post-doctoral fellowship in Soil Biology within CCARBON — the Research Center for Carbon in Tropical Agriculture (FAPESP Process 2021/10573-4), supervised by Prof. Maurício Roberto Cherubin.

The research addresses soil macrofauna and its relationship with soil carbon and soil health. Activities include organizing data according to GlobalSoilMacrofauna standards, statistical analyses of the drivers of tropical macrofauna, and publishing high-impact papers.

Requirements:

  • PhD in Soil Science, Agronomy or Environmental Sciences
  • Field experience in soil macrofauna assessment
  • Command of statistical analysis and of software such as R, Python or SAS
  • Previous publications on soil macrofauna
  • English proficiency and full-time residence in Piracicaba

Desirable: experience with large datasets, geospatial analysis (GIS/QGIS), knowledge of soil carbon metrics, and a valid driver's license.
