Postdoctoral Fellowship in Construction Waste Recycling with FAPESP Funding. Application deadline: July 15, 2026.
FAPESP Agency – A postdoctoral research opportunity in construction waste recycling, supported by a São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) fellowship, is available through the project Cementitious waste fines as supplementary cementitious materials for low-clinker concrete. Applications are open until July 15, 2026.
The project is being conducted at the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (Poli-USP).
Applicants should have advanced knowledge of characterization techniques, including X-ray diffraction (XRD), Rietveld refinement, thermal analysis (thermogravimetry, derivative thermogravimetry, and differential scanning calorimetry), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), as well as other analytical methods such as scanning electron microscopy (SEM), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), Raman spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), small- and wide-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS/WAXS), total X-ray scattering, and pair distribution function (PDF) analysis. Candidates are also expected to have expertise in cement chemistry, pozzolanic activity, supplementary cementitious materials, mechanical properties, fresh-state behavior (including rheology), durability, and mineral processing techniques such as sampling, crushing, grinding, and wet or dry classification. Fluency in both Portuguese and English is required.
Further information about the position and the application process is available at: fapesp.br/oportunidades/9552.
The postdoctoral opportunity is open to both Brazilian and international applicants. The selected candidate will receive a monthly fellowship of R$ 12,570.00, in addition to a Technical Reserve corresponding to 10% of the annual fellowship amount to cover unforeseen expenses directly related to the research activities.
If the selected postdoctoral fellow resides outside the city where the host institution is located and needs to relocate, they may also be eligible for a relocation allowance. Additional information about the FAPESP Postdoctoral Fellowship Program is available at fapesp.br/bolsas/pd.
Additional fellowship opportunities across a wide range of research fields are available through the FAPESP Opportunities portal at fapesp.br/oportunidades.
