About the Journal
Aims and Scope
The Brazilian Journal of Environmental Sciences (Revista Brasileira de Ciências Ambientais - RBCIAMB) publishes original research that addresses various dimensions of environmental sciences, including environmental management, public policies, technological innovation, and land-use dynamics. The journal prioritizes high-quality studies that broaden the understanding of the interactions between society and nature and contribute to the analysis and development of solutions to contemporary environmental challenges.
RBCIAMB is a publication of the Brazilian Association of Sanitary and Environmental Engineering (ABES). It publishes original, complete articles that undergo peer review. RBCIAMB does not publish simple diagnoses that are mere applications of known techniques and that do not contribute to the advancement of science. Review articles must have a clear purpose and an evident intellectual contribution to advancing knowledge. Articles that merely reproduce data from databases, without representing an effective contribution to the scientific debate, will not be accepted. Nor will strictly disciplinary works, predominantly circumscribed to one field of knowledge, without interface with other areas and without convergence of diverse knowledge and expertise with environmental sciences, be accepted. In line with best editorial practices and international trends, starting in 2024, RBCIAMB migrated from a quarterly flow to a continuous flow, with a single annual volume.
If the article has already been presented at a conference, the journal version must show a significant improvement over the conference version, effectively constituting a new article.
